Autumn, winter and spring

Are you accompanied by children?

  • Visit Pettson’s house and workshop. Have a seat on Pettson’s tractor and explore our play area.
  • Take a stroll to the Julita Skans cottages and peek into the cozy surroundings.

  • May 25th to June 9th, we’re open Sat-Sun 10 am–5 pm.
  • From June 15th to August 25th, we’re open daily 10 am–5 pm.
  • From August 31st to September 29th, we’re open Sat-Sun 10 am–5 pm.
  • You’re welcome to visit the park outside regular opening hours. The park is open for visits year-round.

Summer season (May–September)

Visit the entire Julita Manor in 1–2 hours.

  • Take a walk through the park and follow the path along the water via the Skansen Museum, up to the Manor area and the Main House.
  • Join a guided tour of the Main House (45 minutes) to experience the preserved environments of the manor area, including the stable, carriage house, automobile, farm office, and manor kitchen.
  • Walk to the Julita Skans Museum, watch the film about Lieutenant Bäckström and his donation of Julita Manor to the Nordiska Museum (10 minutes). Continue to the greenhouse and enjoy peonies, hops, kitchen garden, and geraniums.
  • Proceed to the manor area, circle the Main House, and enjoy the magnificent view while walking back through the style gardens.
  • Have a coffee or lunch at Biby Café and visit the museum shop.
  • Sit down on the jetty and gaze out over Lake Öljaren.

Explore the park and gardens in 1–2 hours.

  • Visit the exhibitions in the greenhouse about Julita Manor’s garden over 500 years, the hops exhibition, and the geranium exhibition.
  • Experience the kitchen garden, peony garden, and the clone archive for hops.
  • Visit the fruit tree gene bank.
  • Stroll through the style gardens surrounding the manor area.
  • Attend our garden events, such as Geranium Day, Peony Day, Bee Day, or when we have guest lecturers. Or join a guided tour of peonies and the kitchen garden (45 minutes).

Explore buildings and interiors in 1–2 hours.

  • Join a guided tour of the Main House and experience the preserved interior (45 minutes).
  • Take a tour through the Julita Skans Museum and see period interiors from the 17th and 18th centuries.
  • Peek into the atmospheric Julita Skans Church.
  • Visit the preserved workshop of the estate carpenter.
  • Enter the National Romantic styled Julita Skans Cottages.
  • Look down into the preserved medieval cloister vaults.
  • Experience the preserved manor environment with the Main House, stable, carriage house, automobile, farm office, and manor kitchen.
  • Step into the 1930s fire station.
  • Visit the dairy from the early 1900s and watch the film about the dairy maid (8 minutes).
  • Pass the brickworks and lime kiln and peek into the brick kiln.
  • Take a walk through the rose garden to the Gazebo.

A fun hour together, 3 ways:

  1. Visit our outdoor playground. Take a ride in the rowboat on the sand lake Böljaren. Try the wood stove in the outdoor kitchen or give hobbyhorse galloping a shot.
  2. Play inside Pettson’s farm, walk on stilts, and try Pettson’s tractor.
  3. Visit the trading post and cottage in the Playhouse.

Two hours with children aged 5:

  • Experience our large family area with a playground, Pettson’s farm, and the Playhouse with the trading post.
  • Have a snack or lunch in the café.
  • Buy ice cream or fun books and toys in the museum shop.

Two hours with children aged 8:

  • Experience our large family area with a playground, Pettson’s farm, and the Playhouse with the trading post.
  • Try building a log house, walk on stilts, or balance on the footbridge over the stream.
  • Join a family tour in the Main House and have a seat in one of the carriages in the carriage wing.
  • Have a snack or lunch in the café.

  • Explore our exhibitions, buildings, and gardens.
  • Watch the film about Lieutenant Bäckström and his donation of Julita Manor to the museum Nordiska museet (approximately 10 minutes).
  • Have a break in the café.
  • Join a guided tour of the main house (approximately 45 minutes).
  • Visit the Julita Manor shop in the entrance building and purchase a nice gift, local artisanal products, or a memento from your visit.

  • Book food and accommodation signed by famous chef Tommy Myllymäki, with dinner and breakfast at Julita Inn, and an overnight stay in the manor wings or in the hostel.
  • Explore our exhibitions, old buildings, and gardens.
  • Have a break in the café.
  • Join a guided tour of the main house.
  • Visit the museum shop and purchase a nice gift, local artisanal products, or a memento from your visit.
  • Enjoy the sunset from the jetty at the manor or take a quiet evening stroll in the peaceful, beautiful park.
